The Biomac Foundation

How it works

The “Smartgun” will be extremely intuitive to use.  Upon releasing the gun’s normal safety (which pre-arms an electronic module), the user’s gripping of the pistol will activate the recognition system.   At the rear of the gun, an LED light will turn green if the user is recognized and the gun is operable.  Otherwise, the LED remains red and the weapon cannot be fired.
The Biomac sensor system will not rely on fingerprints, which are only 91.4 percent accurate, but on multiple sensors in a sensor array that will generate a minimum 99.99 percent accuracy.   Also, where today’s recognition systems often take as much as two to five seconds to identify a user, Biomac’s system will identify the user in less than one-quarter second, while allowing up to 11 users per weapon. To date, the Biomac Access System filed with the U.S. Patent Office, is the only concept to take into account the retrofitting of existing weaponry for multiple users -- a practical and marketing consideration that Biomac feels is essential to success.
