The History of Biomac

E-mail Print PDF

Biomac Systems, Inc., the parent company of The Foundation, was incorporated in Delaware in 2007 to design and manufacture a system for a biometric “Smart gun,” a weapon that recognizes its owner or authorized user, including up to 11 users. The system was also intended to lend itself to the converting of existing handguns and rifles into “smart guns” with retrofit kits, as well as new gun production.

Funding

E-mail Print PDF
The Foundation seeks a maximum of 15 million Euro (calculated at 1EUR = 1.32USD to be $19,849,200) to capitalize a projected three-year R&D program needed to develop its smart gun technology. To do this, Biomac is using a unique approach to fundraising — applying the power of viral Internet marketing to attract many small donations from interested parties. This grass-roots approach ensures that the organization will be beholden to fewer large companies with vested interests in gun manufacturing or have a political axe to grind.

Should the R&D program win sufficient Government grants or subsidies, its budget could be reduced up to 50 percent. The Foundation has planned for this contingency by escrowing all donations until at least 1.5 million Euro is reached. This has been determined to be the minimum sum required to begin its R&D program.  Should the 1.5 million Euro figure never be reached, the Foundation will donate all proceeds raised to the Save The Children Foundation. In addition, it should be noted that the funding of the Foundation’s R&D program will be a one-time affair, since its ongoing operations will create a stand-alone revenue source for the Foundation’s mission.

Operations

E-mail Print PDF

The Biomac Foundation is an international entity with operations in most of the world, including Russia and the Middle East. The Foundation is depending upon local peace authorities, such as police forces and government agencies to lead its retrofitting center management. This ensures that The Foundation's goal of universal biometric access controls on all weapons will become a reality.

Upon the successful completion of its R&D program, The Foundation functions will transition to the following:

  1. Convert existing weapons into smart guns through global and regional retrofitting centers operated by the Foundation and/or its designees.
  2. Manufacture the optical sensors and/or components necessary for the retrofitting of existing weapons.
  3. License weapon manufacturers to use its technology in the manufacture of new weapons.

The price of retrofitting existing weapons will be kept economical for citizens to ensure compliance with future laws mandating the transition to owner-authorized weapons. Biomac, as a non-profit, can ensure reasonable prices by lobbying governments for consumer rebates through tax deductions, as well as government subsidies, where appropriate.
